Practices
TRAINING/PRACTICE SESSIONS
The focus of these informal sessions is to bring people together and share knowledge and training tips. We do not have a Clinician present as with a formal clinic. To keep things running smoothly, we will set up a practice order on a board at the arena. We aim to have each person get two short practice sessions. We ask that dogs that are reactive or overstimulated be left outside the arena prior to their turn. Short bursts of socializing is great experience for dogs however, barking and whining can be very distracting.
Cariboo Stock Dogs has arranged these practice sessions over the winter months at the request of our members, particularly those that do not have access to stock. Winter has many challenges with cold temperatures and snowy conditions. As the arena is not heated, we ask that you dress warm, bring a hot drink and a chair for yourself. We will cancel practice if the weather drops below -10 or there is unsafe driving conditions. An email will be sent out the day before each practice to cancel or remind people of a practice.
